Barbara relocated from Sydney to Auckland with her gorgeous British Bulldogs Ali and Lily-Bear during the COVID-19 pandemic. She talks about the inseparable bond that she has with her dogs and shares their pet travel story.
Ali was flown from a farm in Jindabyne and was adopted by the Dobson family when he was eight weeks old. Barbara says fondly, “Ali is named after his pet dad Alistair. He is our baby. Ali adores and loves his pet dad because he was the first person Ali met when he flew up in his crate. Alistair went to collect him from the airport, and Ali has been stuck to his pet dad ever since.”
Lily-Bear was picked up from a breeder in Penrith when she was about ten weeks old. She was raised on a farm with lots of siblings and older dogs. Barbara says, “However, by the time we picked Lily up most of her siblings had gone to new owners.”
Barbara describes Ali as a very stubborn and spoilt dog who is well-loved by everyone. She says adoringly, “He can sometimes act like a baby, but that would be because he was our baby from the beginning. Ali loves to have his way, and most times will get it. He loves to be independent, but loves cuddles and loves his dad to bits.”
Lily-Bear loves adventure and is always looking for somewhere to go and seek out exitement. She is feisty, protective and a typical dog who will defend any family member. Barbara says, “If Ali is getting attention, Lily wants more attention from us.”
The Dobson family decided to relocate to Auckland, New Zealand due to the COVID 19 pandemic. She says, “Our seventeen-year-old son has severe autism, so we had to relocate for entitlement benefits. And no, we would never leave our dogs behind.”
Barbara decided to seek assistance from an international pet relocation company to help her move her pets abroad. She wanted the best for her fur babies, and after a lot of research, she chose Petraveller. She says, “I found excellence across the whole service from Petraveller. Lily and Ali received first class service; they were loved and cared for during their flight. They were officially the first pets to arrive in New Zealand during the lockdown. Our family was over the moon to be finally reunited.”
Ali and Lily-Bear were absolute sweethearts during their international journey from Sydney to Auckland. Thank you, Barbara, for entrusting Petraveller with your gorgeous babies. All the best on the move and here’s hoping you make some beautiful memories in New Zealand with adorable Ali and Lily-Bear.
