Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, pretty blue-eyed Beagle Bella travelled from Sydney to Singapore with Petraveller. Proud pet mum Kirsty talks of Bella’s quirks and tells us what led her to Petraveller for the international pet relocation.
Kirsty brought Bella home when Bella was just four weeks old. She recalls with a smile, “We saw Bella as a dumpy little blue-eyed puppy, digging into my husband’s shoe. From that moment, we knew she was the one for us.”
Bella is extremely food orientated. Kirsty laughs and says, “She jumps up regularly onto kitchen benches/islands to check what food is available for her.” Kirsty shares, “Bella once ate a quarter bag of macadamia nuts, which led to her not being able to walk properly. We had to get her stomach pumped. The vet said there were a few solid IKEA bottles of macadamias, along with sausages in her stomach.”
The Cassell family were relocating to Singapore for work. Kirsty says, “It has never been an option to leave Bella behind – she’s our first child! Although the grandparents have enjoyed her, and she has put on weight since staying with them!”
Kirsty started looking for pet travel options to move her pup to Singapore. Kirsty had originally booked another pet transport agency. She says, “At first, they were great. But just as we were relocating to Singapore, COVID-19 hit, and all flights stopped. Then I stopped receiving any communication from the other company. Every time I made contact, they would say there’s no further update.”
Kirsty adds, “In March, I received a call from Petraveller who advised that they were trying to get cargo flights approved for pets. At the time, I thought it was the original company I had booked with. I cancelled the other company and booked with Petraveller as soon as we could. Everyone at Petraveller has gone above and beyond in customer service. I know that they would be working with many other people and families but I truly felt as if I was Petraveller’s only customer.”
Pet travel during the COVID-19 pandemic is a huge challenge, but Petraveller reunited Bella with her family in Singapore successfully. Kirsty and the Cassell family were delighted with the pet travel experience. Kirsty says, “The entire team at Petraveller were absolutely amazing throughout the relocation process. No problem has seemed too big, and the patience involved from everyone considering there were two families to manage was fantastic. In all the photos and videos, Bella appeared calm and well looked after – a big accomplishment for a dog that barks at a bird on the path!”
Thank you, Kirsty, for trusting Petraveller with your precious fur baby in these trying times. We wish you lots of happiness and many fun adventures with Bella in Singapore.
