Karen and her handsome Labrador Cross, Boston, relocated from Melbourne to Christchurch with Petraveller. She talks about the special bond that they share and why she chose Petraveller.
Boston was an instant hit with the Luskie family ever since the time he became part of their lives. He loves everyone! Karen laughs and says, “Boston is a lazy dog and is the last one to wake up in the morning. He has a routine of getting up late, followed by a toilet stop, his breakfast and then back to bed.” Boston loves his walks and is always happy to meet other dogs.
Karen says, “Boston is gentle and is very careful with our three young grandsons. He even lets them feed him. Despite being a big dog, Boston still thinks he is a lap dog. When we are sitting down, he tries to sit on our knee. However, he is terrified of loud noises and looks to us for comfort.”
Karen shares a funny experience with Boston. She says, “We were sitting at the vet with other small dogs. Boston was trying to sit on my lap and look out the window away from the reception. It was as if he was trying to say don’t look at me.” She adds, “I’m sure if dogs could react like humans, the small dogs would laugh looking at his behaviour.”
After spending ten years in Australia, the Luskie family were moving back home to Christchurch, New Zealand. She says, “We have two daughters and three grandsons in Christchurch. A job opportunity came up, so we decided it was time to go back. We both have our parents there who are getting older.”
The Luskie family were sure they were taking Boston along. Karen says, “If we were unable to take Boston to New Zealand, our decision to go back would not have happened. He is our baby.”
Karen began looking for an accredited international pet transport company to help her manage the pet travel. They spoke to a few companies before choosing Petraveller. She says, “It was the customer service and the personal care that sold me on Petraveller. I liked that there was constant contact with Petraveller regarding Boston through his journey.”
Boston is now enjoying his new home in New Zealand after his stress-free flight from Melbourne to Christchurch. Petraveller wishes you and Boston happy and exciting moments in New Zealand.
