Petraveller relocated four gorgeous Domestic Shorthair cats, Cheetos, Rainbow, Leia and Father, from Sydney to Toronto. Cat mum Veronica talks about her cats and tells us why she chose Petraveller for their international pet travel to Canada.
Veronica got Cheetos from a friend who adopted him from the RSPCA. Veronica shares, “Cheetos started living with us as my friend had other cats and could not keep Cheetos. He is not too smart and likes to choke himself by putting his neck on top of buckets and boxes. We have to cover and hide things from him. Cheetos is a very friendly cat.”
Rainbow was a stray cat who would often come to Veronica’s place for food. She was extremely thin and was missing fur. Veronica recalls, “After a few weeks, we noticed that Rainbow was pregnant, so we locked her inside as we were afraid that she might have the kittens outside during winter. We got Rainbow desexed later, and she has stayed with us ever since.”
Speaking about Rainbow, Veronica says, “Rainbow is too shy and scared of everything and everyone. The other cats steal her food, so we have to stay next to her till she eats. Rainbow is smart and tries to sneak away, but as she is small, she is easy to control and carry.”
Leia is one of Rainbow’s kittens. Veronica recalls, “We gave Leia away as a kitten to a person who didn’t take care of her and was trying to sell her. When we found out about it, we got her back. She was very scared and didn’t want to leave Rainbow’s side, and we didn’t have the heart to give her away again. We desexed her and kept her home.”
Veronica describes Leia as naughty, friendly, and very brave. Leia loves sleeping with Rainbow. She is the boss at home and is always friendly.
Father used to come through Veronica’s kitchen window to steal cat food. He wasn’t a friendly cat and would just eat and leave. Veronica shares, “It took months for Father to trust us. One day he got sick and came to our place vomiting and looking terrible. We took him to the emergency, and he had to go under treatment for a few weeks. After that, he didn’t leave our side nor our place.”
Veronica talks about Father’s personality. She says, “Father is shy and not as friendly as the other cats. He doesn’t like Cheetos and likes to be alone. He gets scared easily due to his abusive past. However, he is well behaved and is a good boy. Father tends to pee himself whenever we take him to the vet.”
Veronica was moving to Toronto. She says, “We are relocating to Canada since my husband is starting his postgraduate studies there. We tried finding homes for them but couldn’t find a suitable forever home. Leaving them behind was never an option. They are our family and like our babies. Leaving them for a month is already very stressful and worrisome for us. We want to be reunited soon, safe and healthy in Canada.”
Veronica was certain that she needed an experienced pet travel agency to help with her pets’ international relocation. She researched various pet travel companies in Australia, read countless reviews and contacted several companies. After a lot of research, Veronica chose to go ahead with Petraveller for her pets’ international move. She says, “Petraveller had the best reviews, and all were honest and real, unlike other agencies, just reading some of the horrible cases scared us. Petraveller had been in constant contact with us from day one, making us feel comfortable and safe.”
We are delighted to say that Cheetos, Rainbow, Leia and Father had a fantastic flight from Sydney to Toronto and are happily reunited with their mum Veronica. Thank you, Veronica, for choosing Petraveller for your cats’ international pet relocation. We appreciate your feedback and wish you happiness with adorable Cheetos, Rainbow, Leia and Father.
