Faith and Crumpet, her Domestic Medium Hair Cat, relocated from Melbourne to Singapore with Petraveller. Pet mum Faith talks about her pet and shares her pet travel experience with Petraveller.
Faith and her partner Marcus had always wanted a cat. They browsed adoption sites for a few months before finally committing themselves to pet ownership. Faith says, “Crumpet was originally called Koda. During our search, Koda’s profile kept popping up and we thought he was quite a silly and cute looking cat. He was described as relaxed, and at two years old, he was perfect for us.”
Faith recalls the first time they met Crumpet, “We first saw Crumpet rolling on his back at the top of his scratching post, pawing at the glass as people walked by. He was slightly curled up so we could not see him well, just a mass of tabby and white fur and some pink paws. Crumpet snuggled up to me immediately and I fell in love. He looked so desperate for attention. Marcus was not convinced initially until Crumpet stretched out and put his little white paw on Marcus’ arm. Marcus softened up instantly and Crumpet was ours!”
Crumpet is a very affectionate, outdoorsy and adventurous cat. Faith laughs and says affectionately, “To us, Crumpet is a quintessential cat. He is very affectionate but sometimes needs his space. He is a bit of a coward but loyal too. He is friendly and social but takes a little time to warm up to strangers. He is vocal and tells us everything he wants. He is curious and intelligent too.”
Faith adds, “Crumpet knew something was happening when we were getting ready to move. He kept bringing us favourite toys to the bedroom while we slept. He is the best cat we know!”
Faith and Marcus were moving to Bartley, Singapore and leaving Crumpet behind was not an option for them. Faith says, “We had always intended to bring Crumpet wherever we went. We had confirmed his flight in May that would leave just two days after ours. But moving during COVID-19 pandemic and global lockdowns made the move challenging with the constant changing conditions. His intended flight did not materialise and we were given just a day’s notice. It was too late for us to cancel our own plans. So, we rerouted Crumpet to Melbourne to stay with my brother while we worked on his outbound flight.”
Faith began her search for a reputed international pet transport company to help her bring Crumpet over to Singapore during the pandemic. After calling around to a few pet relocation services, she chose Petraveller. She says, “I felt the most comfortable with Petraveller. They were completely professional and empathetic with advice and speech. They were knowledgeable about the current flight situation with the pandemic going on, had the pet’s welfare top of mind, and did not try to overcommit. Also, the online reviews for Petraveller were overwhelmingly positive, which helped too.”
Despite the COVID-19 situation, Crumpet made his journey to Singapore in great spirits and is busy enjoying his new surroundings. Faith was ecstatic on being reunited with her beloved Crumpet and very happy with Petraveller’s service. She says, “Petraveller never gave up on getting our cat to Singapore in the middle of the pandemic. They worked proactively with us to find options and any pros and cons. The team at Petraveller are passionate and caring. In addition to going out of their way to problem-solve the challenges that came up, they managed my heightened anxiety with skill and so much care.”
Thank you, Faith, for trusting us with your precious pet Crumpet. It was our pleasure to be a part of Crumpet’s great pet travel adventure. Best wishes on the move and big hugs to darling Crumpet!
