Sarah gave adorable Greyhound Cyrus a new home when she adopted him from the Wagga pound. We had a little chat with pet mum Sarah about Cyrus and why she chose Petraveller for the international pet transport to Christchurch.
Sarah brought Cyrus home forever when she adopted him from the Wagga pound in September 2020. “He had three owners before us, and we think he was used for hunting,” says Sarah.
Sarah reveals her pet’s personality and says, “Cyrus is a very affectionate dog, who loves physical attention. He doesn’t bark but will cry and sometimes howl if you are cuddling him or if he wants to be cuddled. He is quite a confident dog with people and other dogs. Cyrus is never shy or submissive.”
She adds, “However, he may jump up to greet strangers, but we are trying to stop this behaviour. Cyrus loves to play with other dogs, but he’s too bouncy and big for small dogs.”
Cyrus is a huge foodie. Sarah shares, “Cyrus has a big appetite. He has two meals a day in a slow feeder to stop him from eating too fast and getting bloated. So, if he’s not eating, we know that he’s not feeling well.”
After residing in Australia for six years, Sarah was returning home to Christchurch, New Zealand. “When we adopted Cyrus, I was planning to stay in Australia for another two years at least. Although Cyrus loves all people, he is very attached to me, and we made a commitment when we adopted him. So, leaving him behind was never an option,” says Sarah.
Sarah decided to hire an international pet relocation agency to move her pet to Christchurch. She was delighted to partner with Petraveller for Cyrus’s move. She says, “Petraveller covered all aspects of the relocation and was also reasonably priced. They got back to me with a quote quickly (versus two weeks for other companies) and were super responsive to all my queries.”
Cyrus was an absolute darling on his flight from Melbourne to Christchurch. Thank you, Sarah, for trusting Petraveller and allowing us to help you relocate your dear pet. Here’s to many incredible adventures with Cyrus in Christchurch.
