“George is extremely social and loves people.”

Petraveller relocated gorgeous Burmese cat George safely from Gold Coast to Christchurch recently. Read on to know about George and his international pet relocation story.

Dave brought George home from a breeder after Dave had to put down his first cat who had FIP. Dave says, “We have had George for two years now and unfortunately have pampered him.”

Speaking of George’s nature, Dave says fondly, “He is extremely social and loves people. If he is crying, he probably wants to be held and will usually climb up on the bed and fall asleep on my feet. He is an indoor cat who comes outside with one of us into the small backyard once a day.”

George has his quirks and is a very picky eater. Dave shares, “He eats lamb cutlets for dinner every night and won’t eat beef unless it is scotch fillet or above. He’s extremely partial to seared yellowfin tuna.”

Dave was relocating to Christchurch, New Zealand for work. “Leaving George behind was not an option,” says Dave.

International pet travel can be challenging due to the different pet import rules and regulations that have to be followed. When Dave decided to move to New Zealand, his first thought was to organise George’s pet travel. He began looking for pet travel options to move his pet cat safely to Christchurch. Dave decided to seek help from a professional team who are experts in handling international pet relocations for George’s journey to New Zealand.

Dave reached out to Petraveller to arrange George’s pet travel. He says, “I contacted a few pet travel companies and got three quotes - one came back from a Hotmail account, and the other one was more expensive. They also refused to provide any availability for three weeks, which, to be honest, was the last thing I needed to hear.”

George had an incredible flight from Gold Coast to Christchurch and is now enjoying his new home. Thank you, Dave, for trusting us to relocate your furry boy George. We wish you good luck and lots of cuddles to sweet George.
