Carmencita’s adorable Maltese Kimba travelled from Brisbane to Paris with Petraveller. This is Kimba’s pet travel story.
Carmencita received Kimba as a birthday gift about four years ago, and since then they have been inseparable. Carmencita recalls fondly, “ On our way from picking her up from the breeder, she slowly crawled her way up and stayed over my shoulder all the way home. When it was time to sleep, I placed her inside the laundry room on a warm blanket. When I turned all the lights off, I heard what seemed like a loud cry of a grieving person. I allowed her to sleep on the floor next to my bed that night. No more tears.”
Kimba is a very loving dog who loves people. Carmencita says, “Kimba is so loving, not just to me but to anyone willing to give her a gentle pat on her head. She will ask you for a pat and will not stop until she gets it!”
Kimba and Carmencita are very attached; Kimba could always tell when Carmencita was sad and would stay close to her and comfort her. She gets very anxious and refuses to eat if Carmencita leaves her for even a day. Carmencita remembers, “I once left her at a kennel for five days, and she refused to eat for nearly two days before she started eating again. She drank water only.”
Carmencita was moving to France for a year to spend time with her daughter and son-in-law. Carmencita says, “My daughter insisted I bring Kimba along with me, so I will not worry. Kimba is like my child, and I cannot imagine being away from her that long. I have already made enquiries and found no problem bringing her back with me to Australia after my holidays.”
Carmencita reached out to Petraveller to help with the international pet relocation on the recommendation of a friend. Kimba was happy and comfortable during his flight to Paris. She is exploring France with Carmencita when he is not playing with her daughter’s little pup.
