“Maki has a cheeky personality.”

Here’s the relocation story of cheeky Domestic Shorthair Maki who appeared out of nowhere and adopted the Wiktil family. Read more about Maki as she travels to her new home in Oslo from Canberra with Petraveller.

Maki is a street cat from New Delhi, India, where the Wiktil family were posted from 2009 to 2016. Alison smiles as she recalls, “Maki appeared on our terrace one morning in 2011. After being fed some delicious Norwegian mackerel in tomato sauce, she decided she would adopt us. Since then, Maki has moved with us from Delhi to Norway in 2016 and from Norway to Canberra in 2019. She is well-travelled and curious, but at the same time is fearful of unknown situations and is a bit of a ‘fraidy cat.”

Alison describes Maki as a friendly cat who is cute with a cheeky personality. Alison says fondly, “Maki loves to cuddle with her mum and dad and will allow those she’s familiar with to pet her. However, she is quite shy with strangers, and it takes time for her to warm up to new people. Over the years, her confidence has built, but she is still slightly wary.”

The Wiktil family were moving back to Oslo, Norway. Alison says, “Leaving Maki behind was never an option.” Alison decided to hand over the entire relocation process to an experienced pet travel company and reached out to Petraveller to manage Maki’s move from Canberra to Oslo. She says, “We had used another pet relocation agency on the way to Australia and didn’t have a great experience. I researched a few pet relocation agents asking for quotes and liked the way Petraveller presented itself. I also had a long phone chat with Petraveller, and they made me feel at ease.”

Maki had a great flight and landed safely in Oslo. Thank you, Alison, for trusting Petraveller with gorgeous Maki. We wish you a great life ahead and lots of fun moments with sweet Maki in Norway.
