Phoebe and Layanah

“Phoebe is the fat cat of the house.”

Layanah was moving back home to Wellington from Melbourne with her darling Domestic Shorthair kitty Phoebe after she realised how much she missed the quiet, small-town life. Read to know more about Phoebe and her international pet relocation story.

Phoebe was given to Layanah as a birthday present around four and a half years ago, after the loss of Layanah’s previous cat, a few months prior. Layanah says affectionately, “She is very much a one-person cat, often following me around and sleeping on my lap. She will give cuddles to other members of the household on her own terms only.”

Speaking of Phoebe’s quirky nature, Layanah laughs and shares, “Phoebe loves food and is how she got the title of the fat cat of the house. In the mornings if I’m eating breakfast, she will sit on my lap and pretend to sleep. Then, the very next minute her head will be in my bowl." Layanah continues, “She is also very curious, and always likes being in the same room as the family so she can see what is happening.”

After a recent holiday back in her home town in New Zealand, Layanah realised how much she missed being around friends and family and how much she enjoyed the quiet, small-town life. She decided to move back home to New Zealand and embrace the quiet life with Phoebe. “Leaving Phoebe was never an option for me as she is my little fur baby,” says Layanah.

Layanah decided to use the services of a reputed pet relocation company to move her pet abroad, as she wanted to spare herself from the challenges of international pet travel. She says, “I looked around for quotes and the workings of each pet travel company, and found that Petraveller suited best for me and Phoebe.”

Phoebe is now happily enjoying her new home and surroundings in Wellington. Thank you, Layanah for trusting us to fly your sweet Phoebe home from Melbourne to Wellington. Here’s to many happy moments with your family and Phoebe in New Zealand.
