Handsome Australian Cattle Dog cross Pirate travelled with Petraveller from Sydney to Frankfurt. Pet mum Kathrin talks about Pirate and why she chose Petraveller for the pet relocation.
Kathrin got Pirate and all of his siblings when they were only five weeks old as their mother couldn’t take care of them and didn’t have enough milk to feed them. Kathrin took care of them and rehomed all the puppies but decided to keep Pirate.
Kathrin says fondly, “He is a sweet boy who loves playing with his ball and his favourite toy, Lola. He likes to play in the water and with his ball and his toy flamingo Lola.”
Pirate knows where he belongs and doesn’t run away even if the gate is open. Kathrin reminisces with a smile, “Last year, he was let off his lead by someone when we were on a holiday. The only thing he did was to take an empty box which was next to the bin and put his toy on top of it!”
Pirate loves to lay inside on the couch, he usually sleeps about 15 hours a day when it is warm and refuses to go outside. However, he loves being out in the winter and being wrapped up in his blankets.
Kathrin left Australia for Germany in December last year to set her life up before bringing Pirate over. Pirate was passed around a few people who have taken care of him.
After living in Australia for a long time, Kathrin had moved back home to Frankfurt, Germany. “Leaving Pirate behind was hard and not an easy decision. But now that I’m starting a new job, I can’t wait for my boy to finally come to me and live with me in Germany,” says Kathrin.
When it was time for Pirate to relocate, Kathrin decided to get help from a certified international pet relocation company to move her pet. She spoke and emailed a few pet travel companies before deciding on Petraveller. She says, “Petraveller’s customer service has been great. The other companies I spoke to gave me a lot of conflicting information.”
Pirate had a very relaxed journey and is well-settled in his new home. Thank you, Kathrin, for entrusting us with your gorgeous boy Pirate. All the best on the move. Stay safe!
