Tayla and her adorable Domestic Shorthair cat Possum relocated from Melbourne to Wellington with Petraveller. Here’s proud mum, Tayla talking about the pet relocation experience.
Tayla rescued Possum nine years ago in New Zealand when Possum was only three weeks old. Tayla and Possum have always had a very close relationship. Tayla recollects, “I bottle fed her and raised her as a kitten on my own. She has experienced a few seizures over the years as a result of being taken off her mum too early.”
Possum’s vet recently gave her a clean bill of health and told Tayla that she is a very healthy and happy cat. Tayla says, “She has been a primarily indoor cat over the years and does not like to go outside very often.” Possum has travelled before as she relocated with Tayla to Melbourne in 2016, and was reportedly very calm on the flight.
Possum easily adjusts to new environments and is very calm when she’s in her cage and vehicles. She doesn’t meow unless she is hungry or wants attention. Tayla says, “Possum takes a while to warm up to people, and can get grumpy at times. Once she warms up, she becomes cuddly, loving and lets out a loud purr. She has never scratched or bitten anyone, but she doesn’t like to be picked up by anyone other than me.” Every night Possum goes under the covers and sleeps next to Tayla.
Tayla was moving back home to Wellington, and started looking for pet relocation companies to help with Possum’s pet travel. She says, “I would never consider leaving my cat behind.”
On why she chose Petraveller, she says, “I read the reviews for every single pet relocation company in Australia. Petraveller had the best reviews and competitive prices. They took care of all the details such as collecting the pet the night before, and included the vet’s bill in the price, which made the process easier.”
Tayla was very happy with Petraveller’s service. She says, “From start to finish, the process was clearly communicated and made so easy for us. Possum arrived safely and is quickly relaxing into her new life in New Zealand.”
Thank you, Tayla, for trusting Petraveller to relocate your pet from Melbourne to Wellington. Here’s to more memorable experiences in Wellington.
