Ashleigh and her adorable canines Sammy and Missy relocated to London to be closer to family. Here’s their international pet relocation story.
Staffordshire Terrier Sammy has been a part of Ashleigh’s life since Sammy was a puppy. Sammy is a very loving dog who loves people. She is very independent, though she likes a cuddle now and then.
Missy, also a Staffordshire Terrier, is a rescue dog and has been with Ashleigh for nine years now. Ashleigh smiles and says, “Missy is the biggest cuddly, sookie dog you will ever meet.”
Sammy is a very active dog who loves playing tug of war and chasing balls. Ashleigh says, “We’ve had to slow her down a bit as she gets older, so she doesn’t overdo things.”
Sammy has an unusual allergy. Ashleigh shares, “Sammy is generally very healthy, but she is allergic to grass. She has a skin reaction which can get infected if she is exposed to too much grass. She also has some arthritis in her hips due to her age. She is usually on painkillers to make her more comfortable but is fine without them as well. Being a Staffy, it takes a lot to dampen her spirits!”
Missy, on the other hand, loves human company and touch. Ashleigh says, “She loves to sit on your lap, cuddle with you in bed and will be by your side any chance she gets. She also loves her sister Sammy and can sometimes feel a bit lost when Sammy is not nearby. Missy is very healthy and has no current health issues.” Missy is extremely scared of loud noises. Ashleigh shares, “Missy gets a bit scared during storms and if she hears loud bangs.”
Ashleigh says affectionately, “Both Sammy and Missy are extremely friendly with people and are well socialised with other dogs. Neither of them has ever been aggressive to people or other dogs.”
After being away from her family in the United Kingdom for many years, Ashleigh was moving back to London to be with her family. “I am looking forward to spending time with my family. Leaving Sammy and Missy behind was never an option for me. They are more important to me than anything else,” says Ashleigh.
Ashleigh decided to hire an international pet relocation company to help relocate her pets abroad as it is more convenient than relocating the pets herself. She reached out to Petraveller to manage Sammy and Missy’s journey from Melbourne to London. She says, “We chose Petraveller because the quote was competitive. I felt most reassured about the relocation process when I spoke to Petraveller compared to other companies.”
Sammy and Missy are having a good time in London. They are happily exploring the city and getting used to the weather. Thank you, Ashleigh, for trusting us with your precious girls. We hope you're enjoying your family time and have lots of fun adventures with Sammy and Missy in London.
