Jack Russell Terrier X Sauron travelled from Melbourne to Hong Kong with Petraveller. Proud mum Paola explains why Sauron is an integral part of her life and shares her pet’s relocation experience.
Sauron was born in 2013 at Paola mother’s house. Paola says, “We are originally from Italy, but we settled in Melbourne in early 2017. During that time, I introduced Sau to my partner Angelo, and she loves him dearly. As Angelo and I both work, we avoid leaving her alone for long hours. She usually accompanies either one of us to our office, or one of us works from home. She prefers being around people rather than being at a dog park. She has always lived in apartments and knows her manners.”
Paola adds, “We tend to spoil Sauron a bit because she has to cope with our travels and relocations. She loves to be spoiled and demands extra cuddles if neglected.”
Sauron has always been a shy little pup. She gets anxious if left alone in unknown places for long hours. Paola says affectionately, “When alone she is on high alert and listens carefully to every little noise around her without relaxing. She gets scared by loud noises, traffic, thunderstorms, fireworks and not to forget, the vacuum cleaner too.” Sauron hates vet visits and tries to escape from the examination. She is good with other dogs but doesn’t like boisterous puppies or large dogs.
Paola and her partner Angelo were relocating to Hong Kong for work. The first thing Paola checked when they knew they had to move was if Hong Kong was a dog-friendly place. Paola says fondly, “Sauron has always been a part of my family. I have moved with Sauron before, and I know that she doesn’t like to change her routine nor explore new places unless it’s a beach or a lush forest.”
Paola was understandingly anxious about the pet relocation because Sauron would be scared not understanding what is happening around her. She says, “Sauron has been on a few flight journeys before, but she flew sitting next to me being my carry-on baggage. She did not mind it as she was sitting in-between my feet quietly the whole trip. When Sauron came to Australia flying as cargo and with the addition to the quarantine, it was a stressing experience for her,” says Paola.
Before reaching out to Petraveller, Paola contacted two other companies online. She chose to go with Petraveller because of the clear instructions. Paola says, “When I emailed Petraveller, it was clear that they were very careful about details. They were willing to explain to us every step of the procedure and we trusted them to take care of our pup for this trip.”
Sauron has reached safely and is now exploring the new city. Thank you, Paola, for choosing Petraveller for your precious pet’s travel from Australia to Hong Kong.
