Sophee and Jenni

“Sophee is more like my daughter and my best friend.”

Jenni rescued adorable Cocker Spaniel Sophee and took her home forever. Read to know more about Sophee, her quirky nature and her international pet relocation experience with Petraveller.

Jenni rescued Sophee in 2012 from an organisation after she had been taken away from her previous owners who were not nice to her. Jenni says affectionately, “Sophee and I have been inseparable since the moment I got her. Everyone knows she isn’t really a dog to me, she is more like my daughter and best friend!”

Jenni reveals her pet’s quirky nature. She laughs and shares, “My family likes to call Sophee, Dopey as she isn’t always the smartest! Sometimes she will get excited and run so fast that she can’t turn on the brakes and crash into a wall.” She continues, “Sophee makes me laugh every day. She always sleeps in crazy positions and snores her head off. She has this big bottom lip that sometimes goes in funny positions and makes her look so silly. Sophee doesn’t like any toys beside this one little red monkey that we have named Cheeky Monkey. She doesn’t play with Cheeky Monkey, but just carries him around and sleeps with him, he is more like a teddy bear to her than a toy.”

Sophee is extremely caring. Jenni takes a trip down memory lane as she recalls a heart-warming incident, “I was quite sick a few years ago and had to have some surgeries, and Sophee was there with me the whole time I was recovering. She slept on my legs and she was very protective of anyone that came near me, which made my mum angry when she was trying to look after me!”

Sophee is either full of energy or she is snoring her head off. However, she gets upset when Jenni is not around. Jenni says, “When I go to work, she spends a lot of the day sitting at the window waiting for me. She doesn’t like other dogs or loud noises, but she is fine with thunderstorms. She gets a bit nervous in the car and will shake but as soon as I put the window down, she has her head out the window and is so happy.”

Jenni adds, “On walks, Sophee pretty much drags me along trying to chase all the birds, and then when we are home, she is on her back fast asleep with all four paws in the air.”

Jenni and her partner were moving to London, the UK to start a new adventure. She says, “Leaving Sophee behind was never an option, I honestly couldn’t be without her! I think it will be an amazing opportunity for Sophee as well because not many dogs get to travel to new countries. So, I am excited to go on this adventure with her.”

Just like any other pet parent, Jenni was anxious and terrified of being separated from her beloved pet Sophee and was nervous about the relocation. She says, “This relocation was difficult because of Covid, and I had no idea how pet travel worked. Honestly, I was terrified of it and positive that I wasn't going to go ahead with the move because I was so scared. One night, I decided to look up international pet travel from Australia and Petraveller was the first website I saw.”

Jenni continues, “I did a full stalk of Petraveller’s website and Facebook reviews and decided to fill in an enquiry form. A few days later, I had a long discussion with Petraveller about how scared I was about Sophee and all my other concerns. I immediately felt at ease with everything Petraveller told me. I trust Petraveller after reading all of the reviews and I mean literally every single one!”

We are pleased to say that Sophee had an amazing flight and made it to London in good health. Thank you, Jenni, for trusting Petraveller and giving us the opportunity to relocate precious Sophee. We wish you good luck with your adventure and hope you enjoy beautiful London with your beloved Sophee.
