Chrissie and her gorgeous Domestic Shorthair cats Tiki and Malibu relocated from Sydney to South Croydon, London. Chrissie talks about her cats and the pet relocation experience.
Tiki and Malibu became part of the Clarke family about nine years ago when Chrissie rescued them from a local shelter. Chrissie reminisces, "Tiki was found on the side of the road when she was approximately two weeks old after being abused. Malibu was found locked in a shed with another cat when he was just a few weeks old."
The cats were at the vet's for a few months, and it so happened that Chrissie was at the vet getting medicine for their dog, who is sadly no more. Chrissie says, "I saw Tiki and Malibu in their cages. The vet told me that both were being put down the next day as they couldn't find homes for them. So I called my husband to come down, and we took them home that night." Tiki and Malibu hadn't met until they went home with Chrissie, but they became brother and sister that day.
Despite their traumatic beginnings, Malibu and Tiki are affectionate and adorable. Chrissie says with a smile, "Tiki pretends to be feisty, but in reality, she can't catch a fly! She is extremely cuddly once she is comfortable with you and always knows when you need a cuddle. She loves to wash Malibu - even when he doesn't want to be washed!"
Malibu, on the other hand, is a nervous cat. He hates going to the vet and needs Tiki to comfort him when he is anxious. Chrissie says, "Malibu is an affectionate and cuddly cat. His morning routine involves sitting on the lounge with me, my husband, our children, and giving us all foot kisses and snuggling up."
Chrissie was concerned about Malibu and Tiki's flight to London considering they were both indoor cats who weren't socialised with other animals. She was especially anxious about Malibu since he is a nervous traveller who gets very distressed when he has to travel.
The Clarke family were moving to South Croydon, United Kingdom, where Chrissie's family lives. They chose Petraveller to assist with pet transport from Australia to London. Chrissie says, "We did a look of research before we decided on Petraveller. We read all the reviews, and we are extremely impressed with the service. Flying our fur-babies, especially as they are indoor rescue cats, is a very emotional decision but we know they were in good hands."
Tiki and Malibu had a safe flight to London. Chrissie welcomed them to their new home with extra cuddles and a whole lot of TLC.
Thank you, Chrissie, for trusting us with your precious pets!
