“Margot, my husband and I are a tight trio.”

Having got the opportunity to work remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Lucy and her lovely Golden Retriever, Margot relocated from Melbourne to Auckland with Petraveller. Read to know more about Margot and her pet relocation story.

The Hammond family got Margot as an eight-week-old puppy in March 2017 from a family in regional Victoria who had bred a litter from their pet Goldens. Lucy fondly says, “Neither of us grew up with dogs, but I wanted a Golden my whole life, so she is a dream dog for us. As a result, we’re a tight trio -myself, my husband and Margot.” She continues, “We live by the beach, and Margot adores swimming for her ball, digging or being in the bush and going on adventures.”

Lucy describes Margot as super gentle, calm and very docile. Like any Retriever, she loves her food, her daily routine and will do anything for treats. Margot is excellent with other dogs, especially little dogs and puppies, but doesn’t have to play with every dog she meets. Lucy shares, “Margot can be a little nervous or wary of strangers or aggressive dogs, and she’s also a pretty serious guard dog when we’re all at home. For some reason, she hates people in high visibility gear (tradies, the postman etc.) and will bark at them.”

Lucy adds, “Margot is very loyal and rarely runs off too far. She will always look back to check that we’re following or stops and waits for us. We bring her everywhere with us that we can, she comes to our workplaces for the day regularly, on holidays, to the shops etc. She’s very well trained, tolerant and gets along well with people of all ages.”

Margot is sometimes nervous when she sees strangers. Lucy cautions, “Margot is very sweet and cuddly, and if she seems nervous, she just needs someone to talk to her and give her a pat as she settles in.”

Lucy wanted her beloved pet to have a comfortable and stress-free pet travel experience. She began looking for a trusted and efficient pet transport agency to relocate her precious Margot and reached out to Petraveller. She says, “Petraveller promptly came back with a very detailed quote. I appreciate that it was broken down into each line items, and the staff have been really responsive. I also like that Petraveller shows the crates and the process a bit more on their social media. Having never done this before, I found it valuable to be able to see how it all looks like it works.”

Margot had a seamless pet travel experience and made it safely to Auckland. Thank you, Lucy, for trusting us with your beloved girl Margot. We hope you enjoy your family time and have lots of fun adventures with Margot in Auckland.
