Denise gave charming Staffordshire Terrier Barry a new home when she adopted him from Scruffer Lovers. Pet mum Denise chats about Barry and why she chose Petraveller for his international pet travel to Vienna.

Barry was found roaming the streets and spent two weeks with a foster carer before getting adopted by Denise from Scruffer Lovers in February 2019. 

Denise and Barry share an incredible bond. She says affectionately, “Barry is a timid and gentle soul and is very attached to me.” Denise recalls, “When I first got Barry, he escaped from my ground floor balcony, trying to follow me to work. He got stuck in a fence in a park, and sprained his tail. Luckily nothing worse happened. Thankfully the Council collected him on my behalf while I rushed home from work.”

Denise continues, “Since then, I have done a lot of confidence-building with Barry, including weekly swimming sessions, weekly sessions with a dog trainer, scenting classes, dog daycare, hikes and many other fun activities. Barry is on anti-anxiety medication but overall has blossomed into a happy, kangaroo loving boy.”

After living in Australia for fifteen years, Denise was returning to her home town in Vienna, Austria, to spend time with her family. Since Denise and Barry share an incredible bond, leaving Barry behind did not cross her mind. 

Denise started looking for pet travel options to move her precious pet dog to Vienna as she wanted Barry to have a safe and comfortable pet travel experience. She chose Petraveller to manage Barry’s travel after reaching out to several pet transport companies.
