Basil and Chelsea

“We booked Petraveller because they had a zero-harm history.”

Chelsea and her adorable Beagle Basil relocated from Melbourne to Vancouver with Petraveller. She tells us how Basil is a big part of the family and why she decided to go with Petraveller.

Basil became a part of the Blair family when he was about seven weeks old. Chelsea says, “We bought him from a farm near Albury and consider him as our first baby.”

Basil is a very playful dog. Chelsea laughs and says, “He greets us at the door with his tail and bum wiggling and a toy in his mouth. We taught him to ring the bell when he wants to go outside. But now he uses it every time he wants to play too.” She adds, “He is a creature of habit and is happiest in the company of his pack. He does not like car rides and gets very nervous and upset, and does suffer from a little separation anxiety.”

The Blair family were relocating to Vancouver as they were expecting their first child. Chelsea says, “We decided to move to Canada to be closer to our families. Moving without Basil was not an option, as he is like our family.”

Chelsea got in touch with several pet travel agencies but decided to book Petraveller’s service. She says, “Petraveller had a great reputation and zero-harm history. The customer service as well as the communication was great.”

Chelsea was happy with Basil’s pet travel experience. She says, “Everyone at Petraveller was so patient and helpful. They took extra time to very kindly talk me down when I was panicking about the extreme heat. They helped with the right crate for Basil and it made a huge difference. The crate is still his safe space.”

Basil is now happily settling in his new home and getting used to the new surroundings. Chelsea says, “We have moved homes twice before coming to Canada and each time Basil took a long time to settle in. We expected him to be on the edge for a while after such a long journey, but surprisingly he settled in instantly in our new home. He is totally relaxed, and loves the snow and all the adventures we are going on.”
