Bugsy and Eleana

“Bugsy is the boss of the stables.”

Eleana recently relocated from Perth to Calgary for work and used Petraveller to move her beloved Kelpie x Labrador Bugsy. Eleana talks about her pet and what led her to Petraveller for Bugsy’s international pet travel to Calgary.

Eleana adopted Bugsy when he was thirteen weeks old. Eleana shares, “Bugsy was unsocialised and unvaccinated, but soon became the boss of the stables. He has been raised around horses and lots of different people. However, he gets anxious when he’s around new people, particularly men.”

Bugsy loves to play fetch and will chase anything that rolls around on the floor. Eleana says, “Bugsy is used to being looked after by many different people. When we left him in a kennel for one day and came to collect him, he went off his rocker with excitement in a way that we had never seen him before.”

Eleana is a proud pet parent. She says affectionately, “Bugsy is one of the most intelligent dogs I’ve ever owned, he has never been naughty. His character is spectacular. Due to Covid, my family couldn’t fly over for our wedding in March, so I chose to have Bugsy accompany me down the aisle.”

Speaking about Bugsy’s health, Eleana shares, “Bugsy had an accident when he was one and split his jaw lengthways. Due to this traumatic experience, he has extreme discomfort around veterinary professionals.”

Eleana was relocating to Calgary for work and new adventures. She says, “The only time we considered leaving Bugsy behind was when Covid caused the prices of pet relocation to sky-rocket. We can afford it now but we knew leaving Bugsy in Australia was the last resort. We’ve had to weigh up our options carefully and scrutinise every decision during this time.”

Eleana decided to take help from a reputed pet travel company to manage her pet’s journey. Before reaching out to Petraveller, Eleana contacted several other pet transport companies to compare the price. Eleana says, “Petraveller was the most reasonable in terms of costs.
