“Petraveller’s professional responses reviews and general presentation convinced us.”
Brave boy Buzz travelled all the way from Sydney to Los Angeles with Petraveller to reunite with his family after being away for almost two years. Read to know more about Buzz and his international pet travel experience with Petraveller.
Buzz arrived at Sydney Airport from Mudgeein November 2015 in a crate at about twelve weeks old. The Parker family took him home to Turramurra, and he immediately became a fully-fledged member of the family. Buzz is a Toy Poodle cross Cavalier King Spaniel, he started out as an apricot colour and grew into a white doggy with apricot highlights.
Pet parent Will reminisces, “Our children were seven and nine at the time and have always been very involved in training, caring for and playing with Buzz. He was easy to house train and has always been a fast learner, although we didn’t spend a great deal of time on formal discipline. He is able to sit and stay. He shakes hands and will wait to eat until given permission.”
Buzz is an active and very playful dog. He loves to walk, and plays fetch outside and inside. He has a few favourite toys which he loves to toss around and play his own little game of fetch. Will says affectionately, “He loves to ride in the car with us and to generally spend time with the family. He is very companionable, easy to handle, cuddle and carry.”
The Parker family have been away from Buzz for almost three years because they relocated before him. Buzz continued to entertain the Parker family via the videos that family members sent weekly. Will recalls many funny, heart-warming and delightful moments with Buzz. For instance, Will says, “Some of the most memorable things I can relate go back to when we would sit on our bed while we watched TV and Buzz occasionally would become transfixed by the picture. Many times, he would express his views about the TV by beginning to growl.”
Speaking about his pet’s temperament, Will says, “Buzz is curious, and seems thoughtful and very attuned to the kids’ moods and our general feelings. He is bright and easy to caution, although he does have a tendency to want to chase after and potentially pick fights with much larger dogs. But before we left Australia, we had started taking him to socialisation and training at St. Ives. He was usually better around other dogs when he was with me. So, I suspect his attitude was to do with him wanting to be protective of my wife and children. In short, he is an absolute delight, easily the best dog any of us have ever owned.”
The Parker family relocated to Los Angeles, USA, due to work. While the family has been away, Buzz moved to live with the grandparents. Will says, “After finding a house and getting settled in, we made various inquiries about relocating Buzz but found that the pandemic had made it either impossible or impractical. We didn’t want him travelling as cargo on a commercial freight aircraft. We considered getting a new dog and leaving Buzz with Nanna and Poppa, but that comes with its own complications in the long run. Therefore, we couldn’t help feeling that the most important thing is to be reunited with him at long last!”
Will started his online hunt for a trustworthy pet travel company who would help get Buzz to the United States safely. Internet research and phone calls to different operators eventually led him to choose Petraveller. Will says, “Petraveller’s professional responses, reviews and general presentation convinced us that Buzz was in the best possible hands for his relocation.”
We are happy to say that Buzz is now happily reunited with his family. Thank you, Will, for trusting Petraveller with your beloved boy Buzz. We wish you good luck and lots of fun adventures with Buzz in Los Angeles.
