Josie and Carmen

Petraveller transported beautiful Labrador x Irish Wolfhound, Josie, from Sydney to London. Pet mum Carmen talks about the companionship she shares with her pet and what led her to Petraveller for the international pet relocation.

Josie is a five-year-old Labrador x Irish Wolfhound with a beautiful black coat and a white cross on her chest. She has been trained as a psychiatric assistance animal through Mind Dog Australia.

Carmen speaks fondly of her pet. She says, “Josie loves everyone and all other dogs, but most of all, her ball. She will bark at you to throw it and pick up my shoes to tell me it’s time to throw the ball. Josie loves going for walks at the park and playing with other dogs. She always lets me know when she has to go to the toilet by knocking on the door, walking to it, looking at me, or bringing me a shoe. When she goes outside, she waits for me to say toilet, and she then goes. If I ask her, do you want toilet/ball/dinner? She either walks to the door or the food bowl.”

Carmen continues, “Josie sleeps with me in my queen bed. If she likes you, she’ll lean on you or head butt you. She uses very subtle communications like nose bump on the hand to tell you she wants something or uses her paws to move your hand to pat her.”

Carmen and Josie were moving to London and Carmen decided to use an international pet travel company to make the journey more comfortable and less stressful for her and Josie.
