Kiah and Elizabeth

“Say the word walk and Kiah is ready to go.”

Elizabeth used Petraveller to relocate their family dog, Kiah, from Sydney to Los Angeles. She talks about Kiah’s quirky nature and why she chose Petraveller for the international pet relocation to Los Angeles.

Australian Silky Terrier Kiah joined the Ward family as a puppy in August 2018. Elizabeth says warmly, “We all love dogs and missed having a pup around the house. Kiah has always slept with my husband, and we love her so much. She knows us in the family as mom, dad, brother and sister, and she is the baby sister of the family.”

Elizabeth is extremely fond of Kiah. She says, “Kiah is a very fun dog to have around. She will sit with us and nap all day but will jump up and play with us in a second.” She laughs and continues, “Say the word walk and Kiah is ready to go. If you don’t get your shoes on quick enough, she cries with excitement till you go. She really loves to go for walks and while walking, she will boop her nose into the leg of the people she loves. It’s adorable.”

Elizabeth adds, “Kiah loves socks. She will snatch a sock that she finds on the floor and run away with it. She also loves to roll in the sand, dives her nose in it first and rolls in it over and over.” Kiah has her own quirks, she always has to have a nervous poop about 4-5 minutes into any car ride. Elizabeth says, “We plan for it and pull over, and let her do her business. She will poop in the car if you don’t stop. She used to get motion sickness while in the car, but now can ride for at least three hours without throwing up.” 

The Ward family were returning home to Los Angeles. Elizabeth says, “We moved here from America in 2017 for my husband’s work. We were going to stay for two years and ended up staying for four years. We left a sweet little Poodle mix in America with my mom. It was tough to leave her, even knowing that we would be back. We have seen her every year when we visit, and she still loves us. She is going to love having Kiah as a little sister to play with.”

For Elizabeth, the wellbeing of her pet is always on her mind. She wanted to make sure Kiah has the most comfortable journey back home.
