Mambo and Elizabeth

As the saying goes: A dog is a man’s best friend, here’s a similar story of Mambo and Elizabeth who are best friends and share an inseparable bond.

Elizabeth met Mambo when he was five years old and they clicked instantly. At that time, he belonged to someone else. She recalls, “When his owner moved, she asked me if I would like to keep him and I said definitely yes because I love him. He has been my dog since then.”

Mambo is a very easy going dog. Elizabeth says, “He follows me everywhere, even to the bathroom. He has never been apart from me except for twice when he went to the vet for one operation overnight and another one for the morning.”

Speaking of Mambo’s behaviour around other dogs, Elizabeth shares, “He is friendly to other dogs, but he doesn’t like it if they jump on his back. He can be dominant if there’s a competition between him and another dog. He loves sniffing things and is generally very calm and very happy all the time but wants a lot of food.”

Elizabeth was concerned about Mambo during the flight because he had never flown and never stayed in a dog kennel before. She says, “He has had an operation on his right knee, and I don’t let him off much to do big runs or chasing because he could hurt his knee on both sides.”

Elizabeth was heading back home to Christchurch, New Zealand. Leaving Mambo behind would break her heart, so it was evident that he would be moving with her.
