Moose and Eric

“Moose is our little bundle of joy.”

Eric and his gorgeous Bull Arab Moose moved from Perth to Wellington with Petraveller. Eric talks about his pet’s personality and explains why he chose Petraveller for Moose’s international pet relocation to Wellington.

Moose became a part of Eric’s family in April 2018. Eric recalls, “We fostered dogs for a company called Shenton Dog Refuge, and I became obsessed with the idea of getting ourselves a family dog. We began to check shelters and rescues and found Moose at the Boxer Rescue. Moose and her brother were together in a foster home. We immediately fell in love with her. After the paperwork process, Moose has been our little bundle of joy ever since.”

Eric talks about his pet’s personality. He laughs and says, “Moose’s personality is best described in one word: moody. She has a schedule and does not like it changing even by one minute. She knows when her feeding times are and her after dinner dental stick.” 

Eric adds, “If you are late on either one, you get woken up by a paw to the face or scratches down your leg while watching tv. If it’s not the time and you tell her to wait, she pouts in a corner and won’t look at you. Moose does not appreciate being touched during these times. She would never hurt a fly but sometimes doesn’t know how big she is when she is playing with smaller dogs and gets overly excited. We always say she’s more of a human than a dog.” Eric cautions, “Moose doesn’t wear a collar because of skin issues. We harness her when she goes for walks.”

Eric and his family were moving to Wellington, New Zealand. He says, “We’ve been fighting a visa battle for over three years, nothing has come of it. We stayed optimistic that the visa would come through, but that day never came. It forced us into looking at other options and relocating the family to somewhere more stable.” As Eric and his family dearly adore their family dog, it was evident that Moose would be joining them in New Zealand.

Eric decided to use an international pet transport company to relocate Moose safely to New Zealand. He contacted Petraveller and designated the responsibility of relocating Moose from Perth to Wellington. Eric says, “We cared about the fact that Petraveller sent pictures and videos along the journey. It’s a great quality that Petraveller has as a company, and the staff has been extremely helpful and calming while we were stressed about the move.”
