Muya and Olivia

“Muya is a world traveller, just like us.”

Olivia and her pretty Shepherd x Labrador Muya moved from Melbourne to London with Petraveller. Olivia talks about her pet and her international pet transport experience with Petraveller.

Olivia and Joshua became pet parents to Muya when they were living in Macau, China. Muya was found on a construction site as a new-born puppy and then taken to a shelter where she lived until Typhoon Hato hit Macau and destroyed the shelter. Olivia remembers, “A call was put out into the community to foster dogs until the shelter was rebuilt. We met Muya at this time and took her home forever.” 

Olivia recollects, “When we adopted Muya, she was barely even a dog. It took her four months before she would even let us pat her. She lived in a shelter her whole life until we found her, and had very little trust in people.” 

She adds, “Muya has come so far since, her personality is barely recognisable from when we got her. Now she plays, loves cuddles, has learnt lots of clever tricks and still continues to be braver and more adventurous each day.”

However, Muya, is still very nervous and needs lots of love and patience. She’s very confident and trusting with her mum and dad but is afraid when they aren’t with her. She is extremely gentle and needs to be handled the same by strangers.

Olivia shares, “In 2019, our time came to leave Macau, and Muya took her first international flight to come to her mum’s home country. Now it’s time for her to go to her Dad’s home. Hopefully we can stay put for a little longer this time!”

Olivia and Joshua were relocating to London. She says, “It was never an option to leave Muya behind, she is part of our family. We would be lost without her. She’s a world traveller, just like us!”

Olivia decided to hire a reputed international pet transport agency to help her relocate Muya safely to London. When Muya travelled from China to Australia, Olivia had used a pet travel company to transport her. She says, “The transport went smoothly, but the general conditions of the transport were not great, unfortunately also unavoidable. We had trouble because of language and cultural barriers during the process.” This time around, Olivia wanted to partner with a pet travel company that gave priority to her pet’s health and safety. 

Olivia was happy to find Petraveller and reached out to the company to help with Muya’s international relocation.
