Odin and Daniel

“Odin is like the child I never had.”

Daniel and his beloved German Pointer Odin travelled from Adelaide to Brussels with Petraveller. Daniel talks fondly about his adorable pet and tells us why he chose Petraveller for Odin’s international pet relocation.

German Pointer Odin became a part of Daniel’s life in 2019. Daniel smiles as he recalls, “I’ve spent all my free time with Odin around the house and in the forests surrounding Williamstown. Two years ago, Stef (my partner) moved in with me, and ever since, we have been a family of three. Odin is a companion dog, he’s very loving and is always with us. To me, Odin is like the child I never had. He is a part of the family.”

Speaking about Odin’s unique personality, Daniel says, “Odin is very energetic for a Pointer. He gets a one hour run a day, which doesn’t wear him down. He’s very playful, kind, not anxious, and gets along with other dogs. Odin always wants to be involved with whatever is happening around him, whether gardening, shovelling dirt, or watching a movie.”

Daniel continues, “Odin grew up as an off-lead dog, with long runs in the forest and on the beach. On lead, he’s still pulling and learning. When we’re away for a full day, Odin gets frustrated and chews up foam mattresses and a pillow or two.”

Daniel and his partner Stef were moving to Brussels, Belgium. He says, “Stef is from Belgium, and after having spent four years in Australia, we’d like to move to Belgium as a family. We plan to work and live in Belgium for a year and travel Europe. The rough plan is to relocate to Europe for about three years.”
