Petra and Lily

Sydney to Frankfurt

Trip Overview

Owner: Petra Ritter

Origin: Sydney

Pet Name: Lily

Destination: Frankfurt

Breed: Kelpie

“Lily is a very empathetic and patient dog.”

Here’s the pawfect relocation story of two best friends reuniting after being separated in two different countries. Read more about Kelpie Lily and her international pet travel experience with Petraveller.

Petra happily adopted Lily, a rescue dog, and made her a part of her family. Petra shares, “Lily probably fell off a utility vehicle or was dropped off. She found her way to our property in March 2016 and was approximately eighteen months old. She already had puppies and was a bit injured. The ranger took her for a week to allow her owners to claim her, but no one did. We visited her during that time, and one day, the ranger said: Just take her, and we were very happy to do so. Lily came in at a very difficult time for my son and me - it was meant to be! She became a very much-loved furry friend for us, and we have a very special relationship.”

Petra talks about her pet’s personality. She smiles and says, “Lily is a very friendly, empathetic and patient dog, but she has her minutes. One day she just took off and did her walkabouts. The whole town knew where she belonged, and after a while, a very happy chap returned. That was probably why she was not suitable as a working farm dog.”

Petra had to return to Frankfurt, Germany, in January 2020. She says, “I was supposed to be back in April to collect Lily, but the pandemic changed everything. During those two years, Lily stayed with our dearest friends, and we can’t thank them enough! This year Lily showed us that she misses us deeply, so we decided to bring her over. So now, after two years of separation, we are finally happy to reunite with her.”

Petra was certain that she needed an experienced pet relocation company to manage Lily’s international travel. Petra says, “Back in 2019/2020, I received quotes from a few relocation agencies. I then had my first contact with Petraveller, which was a good experience. So, I contacted them again this year, and it was a very smooth process.”

Lily had a great flight and landed safely in Frankfurt. She is now happily reunited with Petra and is busy exploring the new neighbourhood. Thank you, Petra, we appreciate you choosing Petraveller for Lily’s international relocation. We wish you lots of happiness and exciting adventures with Lily in Germany.
