Pickles and Devyn

Melbourne to Vancouver

Trip Overview

Owner: Devyn Burstrom

Origin: Melbourne

Pet Name: Pickles

Destination: Vancouver

Breed: German Shepherd

“Pickles loves stealing food we’re when not looking.”

Devyn and her darling German Shepherd Pickles travelled from Melbourne to Vancouver with Petraveller. Devyn talks about the special bond with her pet and shares her international pet travel experience with Petraveller.

Devyn became a pet parent when she brought Pickles home from a breeder near the Sunshine Coast. Devyn says affectionately, “German Shepherds have always been my favourite breed.” Pickles loves cuddles, playtime, toys, walks and dog parks. Devyn laughs and says, “Pickles loves treats and her favourite thing to do is to steal our food when we are not looking.”

Describing her pup’s behaviour, Devyn says, “Pickles has never growled at a person or another animal. She’s always super sweet and matches the temperament of the dogs she’s playing with. Pickles is more on a submissive side to Dachshunds, which is embarrassing at the dog park. We are currently working on her manners, that is barking at other dogs or people passing by because she wants attention and wants to meet them.”

Devyn continues, “Pickles is never aggressive; however, her bark can be loud. She sometimes gets too excited when she sees someone and she jumps up to greet them. I have not had any other issues with her. She is the best dog you will ever meet.”

Devyn was moving to Vancouver, Canada, with Pickles. She says, “I had no idea I was going to be heading back to Canada but plans have changed, and I could never leave my family member behind. When I got Pickles, I knew she was my responsibility, so the thought of leaving her in another country never crossed my mind. I will always be there for my baby, no matter the situation. She is the sweetest thing you could ever see, and I’m excited to show her snow for the first time.”

Devyn decided to take help from an accredited international pet transport company to help her with Pickles’ relocation. Like most pet parents, Devyn was nervous about the long journey. “I have never been away from Pickles for more than a day, so I am anxious about this adventure because it’s a big step for her,” says Devyn.

During her search for a reputed pet relocation company in Australia, Devyn came across Petraveller. She reached out to Petraveller to manage Pickles’ international relocation from Melbourne to Vancouver. Devyn says, “Petraveller had good reviews, and I wanted the best for my baby.”

Pickles had a comfortable journey and made it to Vancouver in good health. Thank you, Devyn, for reaching out to Petraveller for your dog’s international relocation. We wish you a great life ahead and hope Pickles is enjoying the snow in Canada.
