Pudge and Beth

“Pudge thinks every toy is for him and every person walking down the street is there to see him.”

The Heideman family and their handsome English Bulldog Pudge relocated from Melbourne to Dallas Fort Worth. Pudge’s mom, Beth, talks about her pet’s quirks and why she chose Petraveller.

Pudge is a super friendly and cheeky English Bulldog. He was born in 2014 on a farm in Illinois and was described as the fattest and the cuddliest of the litter. Beth recollects, “We immediately fell in love with him, and he came into our family a few months later. Pudge lives up to his name in his pudgy physique. He moved with us from Chicago to Australia in 2016 and loves the beachside life in Melbourne, despite hating the actual water.”

Pudge loves attention and being around people. Beth says fondly, “He is a classic child who thinks every toy is for him and every person walking down the street is there to see him.” 

Pudge is also extremely smart. Beth remembers with a laugh, “At our apartment in Chicago, he used to pretend he had to go to the bathroom an excessive amount of times per day because he knew the mini-mart workers next door would give him beef jerky if they saw him outside.”

She adds, “If Pudge isn’t sleeping the day away, he can be found strutting Bay Street in Port Melbourne making his rounds at all his favourite shops.”

The Heideman family were moving back home to Chicago, US, after living in Melbourne for three years on a work secondment. Beth says, “We never considered leaving Pudge behind in Chicago, and we never considered leaving him in Australia without us.” Beth reached out to Petraveller to help with Pudge’s pet travel from Melbourne to Dallas Fort Worth. Pudge was a well-behaved passenger and had a pleasant journey from Melbourne to Dallas Fort Worth, US. He is now busy reconnecting to his old surroundings. Beth was extremely pleased with the pet travel experience.
