Rafa and Manuela

Manuela relocated with her darling Cattle Dog Rafa from Sydney to Los Angeles with Petraveller. Read to know more about Rafa and his international pet transport to Los Angeles.

Manuela and her partner Matias adopted Rafa and gave him a forever home in February 2020. Manuela shares, “We were looking for an active and smart dog. Since we’re both very active people, we wanted a dog we could go on adventures with. We knew we wanted to adopt as there were so many beautiful dogs out there looking for a home.” 

Manuela recalls, “We saw Rafa in the RSCPA website and knew he was the one, a Kelpie-Cattle Dog mix. Rafa’s original name was Noodles.”

Manuela describes Rafa as a very loyal dog and a fast learner. Rafa loves to run and play with his toys, especially tug-of-war and running after sticks and balls. Manuela laughs and says, “Rafa is a working dog. He loves to have a job of fetching his ball and bringing it back and is obsessed with tennis balls.”

Rafa is not social with other dogs. Manuela elaborates, “Rafa mostly plays with us or some dog friends but only in certain environments. If we are at a friend’s house, he plays with our friend’s dog but won’t play at the park, as he gets overwhelmed when there are too many dogs. Rafa is shy with people he doesn’t know and a bit territorial at home like a classic Cattle Dog. But once he gets to know you, he will play and run with you.”

Manuela was moving to Los Angeles to be closer to her family. She says, “Australia will always be home to us, but right now, we can’t cope with being away from our families for over two years.”
