Romeo, Ronnie and Roger

Sydney to Singapore

Trip Overview

Owner: Roger Heath

Origin: Sydney

Pet Names: Romeo and Ronnie

Destination: Singapore

Breed: Labrador x and British Bulldog

“If the dogs couldn’t come, we weren’t going. Simple as that!”

Roger and his handsome dogs Romeo and Ronnie travelled from Australia to Singapore with Petraveller. Roger talks about how precious his dogs are and the relocation experience.

Romeo was gifted to Roger by his wife in 2016 for Valentine’s Day as he’d always wanted a British Bulldog. Ronnie joined the family later as Romeo’s companion when they adopted him from a foster carer who had rescued him from the dog pound.

Romeo and Ronnie are both big babies who love attention. They enjoy each other’s company and even sleep together on the same bed. Roger says fondly, “Romeo is very stubborn and loves people over dogs, except his brother Ronnie. He is a big clown and will do stupid stuff to get an audience.”

When the Heath family brought Ronnie home, he was terrified. Roger says, “He quickly got over his fear and is now a very happy dog. He is scared of strangers sometimes, but like Romeo, he completely loves attention.”

The Heath family was relocating to Singapore on work and knew that it was important to take the doggies along. Roger explains, “We relocated for my wife’s work. We never considered leaving the dogs behind. If they couldn’t come, we weren’t going. Simple as that!”

Roger and his wife were apprehensive about Romeo’s flight because as a snub-nosed breed, he is especially vulnerable to air travel. Roger says, “Romeo has difficulty breathing, overheats easily and then gets himself in a state.”

Roger chose Petraveller to help with Romeo and Ronnie’s pet transport to Singapore. He explains, “We chose Petraveller only because of their zero per cent harm rate. My wife and I were anxious about transporting a Bulldog by air, especially to a hot climate, and we wanted to make sure Romeo got the best treatment. We thought the air-conditioned environment provided by Petraveller from door to door would help keep Romeo cool and reduce his anxiety levels.”

Romeo and Ronnie reached Singapore without any incident and are now eagerly exploring their new home. Thank you, Heath family, for choosing Petraveller to move your handsome doggies.
