Ronnie, Rogue and Roisin

Sydney to Dublin

Trip Overview

Owner: Roisin McSweeney

Origin: Sydney

Pet Name: Ronnie and Rogue

Destination: Dublin

Breed: Beagle and German Shepherd

All the staff at Petraveller have a genuine love for animals.”

Here’s the relocation story of two adorable dogs – Ronnie, a foodie and Rogue, whose bark is worse than her bite. Join Ronnie and Rogue on their international journey as they travel from Sydney to Dublin with Petraveller.

Ronnie is a loveable Beagle who is extremely easy-going. Roisin laughs and shares, “Ronnie loves everyone and everything. He is driven by food and will do anything for it. Ronnie performs all the basic commands at once five times over if he knows you have treats! He is my heart dog, and I am sure you will fall in love with him when you meet him. If he’s given the opportunity, Ronnie will follow a scent, and if he goes too far, Rogue will be sure to bring him back. His nose is not to be trusted off lead without me!”

Rogue is a German Shepherd whose bark is worse than her bite. Speaking about her pet’s temperament, Roisin says, “Rogue is a big softy and loves affection but is not as cuddly as Ronnie. Rogue is cautious and gets anxious in unfamiliar surroundings. We are working hard on her training and exposure to unfamiliar environments and will continue to do this before travel, though the lockdown has made this hard. Rogue has bonded with Ronnie and is more relaxed with him.”

Ronnie and Rogue are typical of their breed in every way. They are crate trained and know all basic commands. Roisin says, “Both the dogs are totally fine with other dogs, but Rogue has no real interest in dogs and is ball obsessed. If Rogue sees Ronnie playing with a dog, she likes to get involved but has to be watched because she bullies Ronnie.”

After living in Australia for eight years, Roisin and her partner Darragh were heading back to their homeland. “I was brought up in London to Irish parents, and my partner Darragh is Irish. We met in Australia and have had a wonderful life here, where we have two dogs and a baby on the way. We have been proud to call Australia our home for the last eight years, but we both feel it is time to go back to our roots and bring a few new souvenirs with us,” says Roisin.

Roisin started looking into pet travel options to move her pets safely from Sydney to Dublin. She says, “I looked into a few companies, but some would not talk to me and said it was too soon to make plans. Our dogs are our world, and I need to plan ahead so I can work on desensitising them to the upcoming journey so that I can be calm and relaxed for their sake. Petraveller answered all my questions and reassured me about the whole process. All Petraveller’s staff have a genuine love for animals and treat them as their own.”

Ronnie and Rogue had an incredible journey and landed safely in Dublin. Thank you, Roisin, for using Petraveller to relocate your adorable pets. We wish you the best and hope you have a wonderful time with Ronnie and Rogue in Dublin.
