Sancho and Adrienne

Sydney to Brussels

Trip Overview

Owner: Adrienne Whitby

Origin: Sydney

Pet Name: Sancho

Destination: Brussels

Breed: Miniature Smooth-Haired Dachshund

“Sancho takes his role of protecting the house very seriously.”

Petraveller helped pet parent Adrienne relocate her charming Mini Dachshund Sancho from Sydney to Brussels. Adrienne talks about her dog and explains why she chose Petraveller for Sancho’s international pet travel to Brussels.

Sancho became a part of Adrienne’s family when he was nine weeks old in December 2021. Adrienne shares, “Sancho is a very active dog. We go for walks as a family every day in the morning and afternoon as long as it is not raining. He hates the rain! Sancho loves to chew things and is very good at destroying tennis balls and toys. He is friendly with other dogs and will play with them. However, he prefers to dominate other dogs, particularly small fluffy ones.”

Adrienne continues, “Sancho is not friendly with other humans outside his family group and takes his role of protecting the house very seriously. He prefers playing with my partner, whether tugging on a rope or chasing a ball. As always, Sancho prefers a variation to the standard theme. He will chase the ball but won’t bring it back. He picks it up and drops it or stops at it and gestures in its direction, saying: here it is, now, pick it up and throw it again.” Sancho’s main diet is chicken, rice and kibble. He eats twice a day and loves dehydrated chicken, veal, or salmon snacks. His favourite snack is homemade granola.

Adrienne and her partner were relocating to Brussels. She says, “We are moving overseas as my partner has been offered a role in his employer’s headquarters. We would never consider moving without Sancho. He’s a member of our family.”

Adrienne decided to hand over the relocation process to an experienced pet travel company for a hassle-free move. She contacted several pet relocation specialists in Australia for a quote. Adrienne says, “We had a mixed bag of responses. Some pet relocation companies did not reply to us with a quote. One wanted us to agree to use their services before providing a quote. Another provided an initial quote, but, when I tried to correct some mistakes in the quote, it was very difficult to make contact with them. Petraveller sent us a comprehensive quote and we were also able to speak with one of their representatives. That phone call was important to us as it showed us how knowledgeable and caring Petraveller is.”

We are happy to say that Sancho was a happy traveller and landed safely in Brussels. Thank you, Adrienne, we appreciate you choosing Petraveller for your pet’s international relocation. We wish you the best and lots of fun adventures with darling Sancho in Belgium.
