Villanelle and Eilidh

Petraveller helped relocate adorable Kelpie x Huntaway Villanelle from Hobart to London. Villanelle’s mum, Eilidh, talks about her pet and what led her to Petraveller for her international pet relocation.

Eilidh and her partner Alastair adopted Villanelle and made her a part of their family. Eilidh shares, “My partner, Alastair, and I are both vets and Villanelle was brought in by someone when she was found as a stray in the countryside near Hobart. We estimated her to be around fourteen weeks old. Villanelle wasn’t microchipped, and no one came forward for her, so we ended up taking her home! We had wanted a dog for a while, and it hadn’t quite fallen into place yet, but we couldn’t resist her.”

Villanelle is a very active, intelligent and curious dog. Eilidh says, “Villanelle loves exploring and investigating new things and is always up for fun. However, she is wary of new people and situations and takes time to get to know people but quickly warms up. Villanelle is a big softie and very loyal to the people she knows and loves. We don’t know about her history and what may have happened in her past, but she is a big bundle of love.”

Eilidh and her partner were returning to their hometown in London. “My partner and I are originally from the United Kingdom but have been living in Australia for the last two years for jobs and a change of lifestyle. We are returning to the UK partly for further university study and partly to be close to family and friends. We knew this might happen when we took Villanelle on but leaving her behind was never an option!” says Eilidh.

Eilidh decided to use an accredited pet transport agency to move her pet from Hobart to London and reached out to Petraveller. Eilidh says, “Petraveller had good online reviews, and everyone I have spoken to at Petraveller has been helpful, reassuring and comforting.”

We are glad to say that Villanelle had an incredible journey and landed safely in London. Eilidh was thrilled with the pet travel experience. She says, “Villanelle is doing really well after her flight. She is tired as I would expect, but generally just been her normal self as if nothing has happened! I’m so impressed with how relaxed she is and how she’s taken it in her stride.
