“Banjo loves being outdoors.”

Here’s the travel story of a much-adored British Shorthair Banjo, who relocated from Adelaide to Auckland with Petraveller. Pet mum Minette talks about her adventurous feline and explains why she chose Petraveller for Banjo’s international relocation to New Zealand.

“Banjo became part of our family in 2014 when we were living in London. She travelled to Adelaide when we moved there in 2018,” Minette begins, with a warm smile crossing her face as she reminisces about her beloved pet. "She is a much-loved member of our family, adored by myself and my two children.”

 Describing Banjo's personality, Minette shares, “Banjo loves being outdoors and has a playful spirit. She enjoys the thrill of chasing mice, geckos, and skinks, sometimes even bringing them inside. We have to gently coax her to release her prey back into the wild. During the day, she roams along fences, basking in the sun on our neighbour's shed roof. At night, she stays indoors to avoid encounters with other neighbourhood cats.”

As Minette recounts Banjo's mischievous habits, she chuckles, “Banjo has a curious nature and a knack for finding trouble. She often jumps onto benchtops and tabletops, sneaking licks from our cereal bowls when she thinks we're not looking. She's particularly fascinated by our goldfish, Nemo, and has lightning-fast reflexes when it comes to flies and other insects.”

When asked about the reason for their relocation to Auckland, Minette explains, “We decided to move to New Zealand to be closer to my family and receive the support I need. It was challenging for me to care for two small children on my own, and having my parents, friends, and extended family nearby would make a world of difference.”
