Randy and Jeanette

Introducing Jeanette and her beloved pet Randy, a charming Cavoodle with a personality that never fails to bring joy to the family. Read to know more about Randy as he makes his journey from Sydney to Auckland with Petraveller. 

Jeanette and her husband, Evan, always deeply loved dogs and finally fulfilled their dream of having one when Randy became a part of their lives in April 2021.  

Describing Randy’s character, Jeanette shares, “The best way to describe him is confidentially curious! He is dominant in personality and loves to play chase and catch. Randy is very vocal and can be gentle and funny!” Randy’s intelligence shines through as he has mastered an impressive array of tricks, from sitting and shaking hands to performing high-fives and catching objects. Jeanette humorously adds, “But you must have food! Chicken, cheese, or lamb jerky! If Randy isn’t in the mood, he will choose not to do it, even though you know he can!” Despite being curious, Randy is scared of leaves and feathers and is timid around unknown people. 

Randy adores being part of his pack. Jeanette explains, “Randy is very clever but also hates being separated from his pack, so he will make you all know how annoyed he is with his howl.” Jeanette adds, “When Randy is nervous, he withholds his bathroom breaks. We have tried our best to get him comfortable in many different environments, and we are used to travelling around. He loves a road trip and going to the beach!”

Jeanette fondly recalls a time when another dog, Willow, joined their family for a few weeks. Randy embraced his role as a mentor, teaching Willow the ways of being a dog. “Randy was excited to have Willow with him, and he took her under his wing and taught her how to ‘dog’ - it was so cute! It was adorable to see him teaching her how to chase him and do zoomies around the house with their favourite toy!” Jeanette recounts.

Jeanette was relocating to Auckland due to her husband’s work. When the Del Zio family decided to make the move, they knew they had to take Randy with them, as the family couldn’t imagine leaving their pooch behind. 

The prospect of moving to a new city brought about the need to find a reliable pet relocation service. After extensive research, Jeanette chose Petraveller to handle Randy’s travel arrangements. She says, “I loved how Petraveller explained the process and the introductory video. They were clear with the process, and I liked that we had control over the vet visits. We have put a lot of work into Randy liking attending his vet, and that was important to us to keep consistent.”

Randy quivered with excitement as his paws touched down in Auckland. Now in the beautiful land of New Zealand, Randy is ready to explore the enchanting landscapes of Auckland.
