Bill, Ted and Chris

Melbourne to London

Trip Overview

Owner: Christopher Martin

Origin: Melbourne

Pet Names: Bill and Ted

Destination: London

Breed: Domestic Shorthair cats

“Bill loves a good belly rub, and Ted sings to us every morning till we give him breakfast.”

Chris and his partner Lois moved back home to London from Melbourne with their adorable cats Bill and Ted. Chris talks about how different the cats are and his pet relocation experience with Petraveller.

Chris and his family always wanted pets but were hesitant to adopt because of their temporary visa status. They did the next best and decided to foster a cat. When Bill and Ted first came home from a cat charity Chris was volunteering with, the family fell in love with them immediately. When the time came to find them a forever home, Chris took them to the pet shop with a heavy heart.

Chris remembers with a smile, “We were both sad at the thought of them going to a new home, but we knew that it was for the best. They were six months old at the time and were big compared to the fluffy little kittens who were also up for adoption. Bill managed to stink out the pet shop with the world’s stinkiest poop and Ted just cowered in the corner of the crate hissing. We were so relieved with their protest at the pet shop that we adopted them straight away!”

Bill and Ted are adorable cats with distinct personalities. Chris says fondly, “Bill is such a soppy boy. Once he is comfortable with you, he will flop all over your lap and beg for a belly rub. He loves water and will sit in the bath and lick the shower curtain endlessly. Ted is needier than Bill and is aggressively affectionate. He is very vocal and will sing every morning until we get up and give him breakfast. He listens for us when we return from work and rushes to greet us.”

After living for a few years in Australia, the Martins were moving back home to the UK as their visas were due to expire and decided to take the cats along. Chris contacted Petraveller to assist with pet transport from Australia to London. Chris says, “I chose Petraveller because everyone that I spoke to was extremely personable and put my mind at ease about the long journey for the cats. I saw all the great reviews online and knew that Petraveller was the right choice. I am delighted with the customer service that I received right from the first point of contact.”

Bill and Ted are now proper British cats in their new home in the UK. They are still very adorable and are busy having excellent new adventures.
