“With Petraveller, I knew I had chosen the best pet transport company for Cinder.”
Molli’s beloved Kelpie cross Collie Cinder travelled to London with Petraveller during the COVID-19 pandemic. Molli speaks about the unbreakable bond she has with Cinder and why she chose Petraveller for the relocation.
Molli and Cinder met by serendipity; it was a classic case of being in the right place at the right time. Molli moved to Australia in January 2015 and was working on a stud farm in Goulburn. There was already a farm dog, but her boss was looking for another dog. Molli recalls, “My boss worked at the super max prison and was told that there was a little 18-month-old Kelpie x Collie who needed a home. She was not given the opportunity to complete her training to be a sniffer dog at the correctional facility, and they were looking for a perfect home to rehome her.”
Cinder came home to the farm, and that was the beginning of a beautiful friendship between Molli and Cinder. Molli recollects, “I thank my lucky stars every day that the perfect home for Cinder was where I was.” Cinder and Molli hit it off from the moment they met. Molli says, “She has been my dog from day one; I trained her, loved her and even snuck her into my bedroom in the night for cuddles without letting my boss know.”
Two years later, when Molli was changing her job, she went to her boss with a big ask. Molli remembers, “I sat at the table and very nervously asked him if I could take her with me. He replied, “Well yeah, she’s your dog, isn’t she?” Five years later, I love her as much as I did the first day I met her!”
Cinder is a kind, gentle and loving dog. She likes everyone and howls at the people she meets to say hello. Molli says fondly, “Some time ago, I went through a tough patch in my life, and I don’t know what I would have done without her. No matter what we were doing or where we were living, she would still kiss me on the nose, snuggle up to me at night or look at me with her big brown eyes. People say that a dog is a man’s best friend, but I think we sometimes underestimate just how much our dogs do for us.”
Cinder is a complete water dog and loves to swim. She can do laps in any body of water. Molli reminisces with a laugh, “When Cinder swims, she likes to splash around and do high pitch barks. It is funny, and quite often people passing by stop to ask if she’s okay. One summer day, Cinder was up to her usual tricks in the water when a lady ran up to me frantically telling me that my dog was drowning. While I was calmly trying to explain that that is how Cinder likes to swim, she walked into the lake fully clothed trying to ‘save’ Cinder. She swam out to Cinder who took one look at her and swam in the opposite direction, leaving her floating in the middle of the lake fully clothed!”
After six wonderful years in Australia, Molli had to return home to London because her Australian visa came to an unexpected end. Molli says, “I decided to go back home, and my gorgeous Australian fiancé was excited at the new opportunities.” Bringing Cinder home with her was a given. Molli says, “There was not one second that I contemplated leaving her behind.”
Molli began her quest to find the perfect pet travel partner to help her with Cinder’s pet relocation. She went online to look for the best pet transport company. Molli says, “I had it narrowed down to three pet travel companies, and Petraveller always came on top. I wanted to keep an open mind before making my decision. I visited the website, Facebook and Instagram pages of all the companies, and Petraveller was the most active on social media with their photos of happy doggos and happy families.”
Molli reached out to Petraveller for a quote. She says, “As soon as I emailed an enquiry, I knew Petraveller was the one! The proposal they sent was so professional, and every email I received was so friendly and human. I was always spoken to like a friend, and I actually looked forward to phone calls with Petraveller!”
Cinder was an absolute champ during her pet travel adventure. She travelled roughly 80 hours in transit away from her family before she was reunited with Molli in London Heathrow. Molli says, “They were the most nerve-racking hours of my life, but I knew that I had picked the best animal transport company and that she was in the best hands. I was updated throughout Cinder’s journey, and I picked her up from Heathrow as if nothing happened. She was happy and healthy, and that is all I wanted.”
Molli was more than happy with Petraveller’s service. She says, “I will forever be grateful to the professional and loving team at Petraveller who treated Cinder like their own dog.”
Cinder is now enjoying every minute of her life in the United Kingdom; she’s already travelled to England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Best wishes to Molli and Cinder, the well-travelled pooch. Here’s wishing you both many more wonderful adventures in the United Kingdom!
