Harley and Matteo

“Harley is a gentle boy who loves sunbathing.”

Adorable Irish Wolfhound Harley got a new lease of life when Matteo adopted him and brought him home to his family. Matteo talks about his pet and explains why he chose Petraveller for Harley’s international pet transport to Rome. 

Harley is a two-year-old Irish Wolfhound. Matteo adopted Harley in February 2020, and since then, he’s been a part of Matteo’s family, following them everywhere. “Harley is more relaxed now. He has stopped jumping and chewing on things and has learnt to walk with and without a lead,” says Matteo.

Harley is a gentle boy who loves sunbathing and chasing his ball. He enjoys long walks and spending time with kids. Matteo talks about his pet’s anxious nature. He says, “Harley gets anxious if none of us are around. Based on our vet’s suggestion, we give Harley anti-anxiety pills to help him overcome his fear of being left alone.” Matteo adds, “Harley had a major surgery last March, and since then, he has become aggressive with other dogs or when his personal space is crossed.”

Matteo and his family were moving to Rome, Italy. He says, “After spending the last six years travelling around the world, we decided to move back for work and personal reasons. Leaving Harley behind was never an option for us. He’s a rescue who has been through so much; he doesn’t deserve that.”

Matteo decided to engage the services of an international pet relocation agency to handle his pet’s travel journey to Rome.
