Legend and Halley

“Ever since we met Legend, he’s always made us laugh.”

Adorable Staffordshire Terrier, Legend, travelled from Perth to Auckland with Petraveller. Here’s pet mum Halley talking about her goofy boy, Legend and her international pet travel experience with Petraveller. 

The Waller family decided to bring home a female puppy as a sibling for their three-month-old Staffy cross back in 2019. Halley recalls, “We came across a breeder online who had a litter of blue American Staffy pups, and that’s precisely the breed we were looking for. Staffs are such loving and loyal family dogs and are so beautiful.”

Halley reminisces, “As soon as we saw the photos, our hearts melted as they were so chubby and cute. We drove straight to meet them, and there were two boys and a girl. We were planning to take the girl, however, Legend and our dog got along like a house on fire.” She continues, “Legend was so goofy, friendly and playful just like our dog. So, we had to choose him, and we did. I couldn’t have been happier with any decision I made before.”

Halley talks about her pet’s quirky nature. She says, “Ever since we met Legend, he’s always made us laugh. He’s the goofiest and clumsiest dog that we’ve ever had. He would fall off couches and beds and would do funny things that makes us laugh.” 

Legend is a very big sook but is very loving, playful and loves cuddles. He loves swimming and playing. “He has been socialised and has never missed a walk. We also call him our fat boy. Legend looks scary but is a gentle boy. We could never imagine him hurting anyone or any other dog. If a tiny dog barks at him, he usually gets scared and runs away,” says Halley with a laugh.

The Wallers were moving back home to Auckland, New Zealand. Halley says, “All my family and friends live in New Zealand. My husband does FIFO here in Australia, so we have decided to move back home, me first and him later.” She adds, “Leaving Legend is not an option as his home is and always will be with his mummy. We will be settling down in New Zealand and his daddy and sister dog will join us later.”

Halley decided to use an international pet relocation company to help move Legend to New Zealand, as she realised that relocating a pet is a complicated process. She researched, watched videos and reviews about many different pet travel agencies before choosing Petraveller.
