“Petraveller set our mind at ease and explained the process thoroughly.”
Jason and his two dogs Scotty and Sooki moved to London from Sydney with Petraveller. We spoke to Jason about his pets and his international pet travel experience. Here’s what he had to say.
The Wick family got Sooki as a puppy friend for their older boy Schnauzer when they lost his sister at twelve years of age. Jason says, “She is the third Schnauzer we have had and has very similar traits to our previous two. She is a very intelligent dog with a wonderful personality and a feisty spirit.”
Jason became a pet dad to Scotty when he adopted him in 2012 in Queensland. Jason shares, “We got him as a partner for Sooki who unfortunately had just lost her big Schnauzer brother. What can we say, other than it was love at first sight! They took to each other immediately and have been tormenting each other ever since. He is a great addition to our family and is dearly loved.”
Scotty is a very loving and funny character who loves people. He is happy with other small dogs but is not as keen on the big ones. He has a quirky nature and sometimes can be easily spooked. Jason smiles and says, “Scotty loves his walks almost as much as laying on your lap on the lounge. He is not one for being left alone and will often follow us around the house. He is a healthy dog but he can be anxious and a fussy eater.” Jason laughs and adds, “Sometimes, he will decide he does not like his bowl and insist on eating off the floor!”
Sooki, on the other hand, is still very much a puppy at heart – very playful, loves her walks and is a great buddy for Scotty. She is a typical Schnauzer, can be aloof with strangers and is a great watchdog. Jason says, “Sooki is particularly scared of thunder and anything that beeps the wrong way! She is good natured with other dogs but has an independent personality.”
Sooki has had a few health scares in the past. Jason explains, “She is a healthy dog but has previously had pancreatitis, which is common in the Schnauzer breed. She is on a highly specific diet and has had no issues since being on the diet. Sooki has to avoid fatty foods or treats.”
After having spent 17 enjoyable years living in Australia, the Wick family were moving back home to London, United Kingdom. Jason says, “We have made the tough decision to move back to the UK to be closer to family and friends. As the dogs are a huge part of our lives, it did not enter our heads to leave them behind.”
Like most pet parents, Jason was concerned about the pet travel. He says, “We are obviously apprehensive for them and the move, but look forward to having them with us when we are back in the United Kingdom.”
Jason began his online search for an experienced pet transport company to help him relocate his beloved pets abroad. He says, “I got quotes from three pet travel companies. We were very impressed with what we read about Petraveller. We have had a number of conversations with Petraveller and they put our mind at ease and explained the process thoroughly. We were recommended Petraveller by Grace Removals who are shipping our goods to the UK.”
Scotty and Sooki have made it safely to London, and are adjusting well to the London weather. Jason is very happy with the pet travel experience. He says, “The service we received throughout the process was above and beyond. Petraveller made the whole process as stress-free as possible during these difficult times.”
Thank you, Jason, for trusting Petraveller with your fur babies. We wish the Wick family all the best and many fun adventures in London with adorable Sooki and Scotty.
