“Petraveller made me feel safe amid the COVID cancellations.”
Jennifer and her two felines Achilles and Patchy travelled from Sydney to Christchurch with Petraveller. She talks about her pets and explains why she chose Petraveller for the international pet relocation.
Jennifer adopted Achilles and his brother Patchy as kittens and made them part of her family. Achilles is the dominant cat weighing almost 7kg, but is a gentle giant. He loves belly rubs and pats. With a touch of concern, Jennifer says, “He develops bladder crystals when he is stressed or when he doesn’t drink enough water. He is on medication to prevent stress during travelling.” She smiles and adds, “That said, he enjoys car rides with us and likes to look out the window as long as he is in the arms of a family member.”
Talking about Patchy, Jennifer says, “Patchy is our smaller cat. He hates to travel and will tell you about it in a loud voice. He usually travels in the same carrier as his brother for comfort.” She adds, “If given the opportunity Patchy will bolt.”
Jennifer describes Achilles as a big goofball who will do anything for a cat biscuit. Patchy, on the other hand, is a nervous nelly. He hates being picked up and will only come for pats on his terms. He likes chin rubs and head boops. He adores cat snacks but will refuse to eat in protest of travel.
Jennifer was relocating to Christchurch, New Zealand as she has been offered work there. She says, “We have put off an international move for nearly a decade due to stress about transporting the cats. When I was offered work in both New Zealand and England, we began researching transport options and decided on New Zealand as it was a much shorter trip for our two cats.”
Jennifer decided to take assistance from a pet transport company to organise the pet travel. She looked for experienced pet relocation companies and finally reached out to Peraveller. She says, “While some other transport options were cheaper, Petraveller was the most organised and could give me details of flights straight away. In the midst of COVID cancellations, Petraveller made me feel much safer that the boys would not be left at an airport somewhere without flights.”
We are happy to say that Achilles and Patchy made their journey with great ease and are well settled in their new home in New Zealand. Thank you, Jennifer, for trusting us with your pets. We wish you good luck and big hugs to dear Achilles and Patchy.
