Blackie, Willow and Elisa

“Blackie doesn’t like to be touched, and Willow loves everyone who pats her.”

Pet mum Elisa recently moved back to her hometown in Helsinki with her adorable cats Blackie and Willow. Elisa talks about her pets and why she used Petraveller for their international pet relocation to Finland.

Blackie and Willow became a part of Elisa’s life a year ago. Elisa shares, “Blackie was owned by my workplace and lived in a shared house I lived in. No one looked after Blackie and her daughter Willow, so I started looking after them nearly a year ago. Blackie doesn’t like many people, but she bonded with me. I decided to keep her and take her to Finland with me. I took permission to take her around last May, but because of Covid-19, leaving Australia was difficult, and I decided to wait for the borders to open.”

Elisa talks about Blackie’s unique personality. She says affectionately, “Blackie follows me everywhere and runs to the door when I come home. She jumps on my lap every time I sit and drools when she’s happy. Blackie says “Miiiii” when she wants cuddles, so I call her Miimii.”

Elisa adds, “Before Blackie was desexed, she had a litter of kittens. She knew that I was helping her and made me look after her babies when she needed a little alone time. Blackie is scared of people she doesn’t know and doesn’t like to be touched much by random people. However, she does not get angry.”

Blackie’s daughter Willow is a very friendly kitty and wants attention from everyone. Elisa smiles and says, “She loves everyone who pats her and talks to her. Willow likes to join parties as she likes snacks. I call her a little piglet because she has a cute nose like a piglet.”

Elisa was heading back to her home town in Helsinki, Finland. She says, “I couldn’t move without taking the girls with me.”

Elisa started looking for international pet travel options to move her pets to Finland. Elisa got in touch with a few pet transport agencies and asked for quotes before deciding on Petraveller. Elisa contacted Petraveller to take on the responsibility of relocating Blackie and Willow. She says, “Petraveller was perfect for me. Blackie and Willow had a wonderful flight and landed safely in Helsinki. They are now happily settled in their new home and are having a whale of a time exploring the new environment.
