Devdas, Jalebi and Latha

Petraveller relocated two handsome cats, Devdas and Jalebi, from Melbourne to Auckland. Read to know more about Devdas and Jalebi’s quirky nature and their international pet relocation story.

Devdas and Jalebi are beautiful bonded cats who cuddle up next to each other when it is sleep time. Latha says fondly, “They are like brothers from another mother.”

Latha adopted Devdas in 2019 in Melbourne. She recalls, “He would often get bored and lonely at home when we were at work. When Devdas was approximately eight months old, we decided to introduce him to a forever friend. We adopted Jalebi from Pets Haven, an animal shelter in Melbourne. Jalebi is about the same age as Dev, since then the boys have been the best of friends!”

Ragdoll cat Devdas is very shy and docile. Latha says, “He loves to chat, and talks to us all day! He loves his toy mice and sleeping on his human’s lap. He usually hides when we have guests over until he’s confident enough to start chatting.”

Latha talks about Jalebi fondly, “Jalebi is our chonker, he is very energetic and friendly. Jalebi loves anyone and everyone. He will walk up to all our guests asking for pats, bum scratches and more importantly, food. He is the reincarnation of Garfield, the fat cat! He loves chasing his brother Devdas, playing with toys and eating food.”

Latha was moving back home to Auckland, New Zealand. “We moved to Melbourne in July 2019 intending to permanently reside here. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 we are returning home to support our families during this difficult time. We intend to stay in New Zealand permanently now and that’s why we are taking our fur-babies along,” says Latha.
