“Petraveller has great reviews and has been easy to deal with.”
Katrina and her three gorgeous pets, Gracie, Madam and Mr Bear, travelled from Sydney to Miami with Petraveller. Pet parent Katrina fondly talks about her pets and explains why she booked Petraveller for their international pet relocation.
Gracie is a Bull Arab x Great Dane rescue dog that ended up injured and underweight at the pound after she was found wandering. Katrina shares, “Gracie has the sweetest personality and loves everyone. Initially, she was reactive to other dogs, but with good socialisation, she has blossomed and has learned to play.”
Gracie has a lovely personality and wants to be near her people and have her tummy scratched. Gracie is scared of big sticks, boxes, and raised voices. She hates the hose but loves being in the water. Katrina says, “I suspect Gracie was abused in the past and has residual issues. She does not bark and loves a squeaky ball, which is her favourite thing. She runs after it but doesn’t bring it back. Gracie loves running in puddles and will get into any body of water and even puts her head under when she’s playing with her squeaky ball or rescuing sticks. She loves the beach and running into waves, but if you go anywhere near her with a hose, she’s terrified.”
Domestic Long Hair Madam is a rescue and was injured before Katrina adopted her. Katrina shares, “Madam broke her right hind leg and is lucky that she was able to keep it. She has full use of it even though it gives her a funny walk, and it doesn’t stop her from jumping up and exploring. She loves heights and wants to be as high up as possible. When I first adopted Madam, she decided that the roof of the house needed exploring, so she would often jump up onto the fence and from there onto the roof and explore the world from there. She stopped doing this once she realised that getting down was much more complicated and had to be rescued a few times.”
Katrina talks about her pet’s personality. She says, “Madam likes to explore, which is how she broke her leg, so she needs supervision. Her favourite place is on my shoulder. Madam is inquisitive and social and wants to be wherever I am and do what I’m doing. She is one-half of a bonded pair with Mr Bear. She and Mr Bear are not related but look similar. Madam gets very anxious without Mr Bear and needs to be near him.”
Katrina adopted Domestic Long Hair Mr Bear from a rescue organisation when he was five. Mr Bear is a very large, strong, but timid cat. Katrina says, “Mr Bear is very loving. He is bonded with Madam, and they always snuggle together, so they must be together as much as possible.”
Speaking about his behaviour, Katrina says, “Mr Bear has become very loving but only on his terms. He snuggles on my lap for some time, then lies somewhere else close by. He also likes to lie on top of me when I go to bed, which can be a bit tiresome as he is quite heavy. He loves his food and can be quite demanding when he thinks it’s time to eat, usually, around 2 am! Mr Bear is extremely scared of strangers and will hide at a moment’s notice.”
Katrina and her husband were moving to Miami with their pets. “We are relocating for my husband’s work as he has a job opportunity too good to pass on. We never once thought of leaving our pets behind as they are our family,” says Katrina.
Flying with three pets abroad can be stressful and perplexing. Therefore, Katrina decided to hire an international pet transport agency and reached out to Petraveller to manage her pets’ move from Sydney to Miami. She says, “Petraveller had great reviews and has been easy to deal with. The other companies that I contacted were not interested in helping with the relocation. Petraveller was the only one willing to take on the job of transporting our pets.”
Gracie, Madam and Mr Bear had a fantastic journey and landed safely in Miami. Thank you, Katrina, for trusting Petraveller with your fur babies. We wish you a happy life ahead with darling Gracie, Madam and Mr Bear in the United States.
