“Jamie is a chilled out cat”

James and his cat Jamie moved to Kennedy Town, Hong Kong from Australia and used Petraveller to manage Jamie's pet transport. James talks about Jamie and the international pet relocation experience.

When the Mitchell family adopted Jamie in January 2017, he was a very friendly eight-year-old stray cat. He immediately became an important member of the family, loved by everyone. A typical cat, Jamie is sometimes loving and indifferent at other times. James says fondly, “Sometimes Jamie can be absolutely crazy, but generally he is very chilled and not fussed by a lot.”

The Mitchell family decided to move to Hong Kong from Australia for adventure and leaving Jamie behind did not occur to them. James says, “Leaving him behind was never an option, even though he's ‘just a cat’ (as people kept telling us).”

James started looking around for a pet transport company to help them with the pet relocation. He contacted several relocation agencies before zeroing on Petraveller. James says, “I also got a quote from another agency but it didn’t have all the components of service as Petraveller. They excluded the cost of import documents into Hong Kong, which was upsetting because the documentation and cost of import was the biggest reason for hiring a pet travel agency.”
