“Leo and Rue are best friends.”
Here’s the international relocation story of two purrfectly adorable kitties, Leo and Rue, who are like chalk and cheese. Read more about Leo and Rue as they travel from Perth to Calgary with Petraveller.
Tyson brought home gorgeous Domestic Shorthair Rue, who was a rescue kitten. Tyson smiles as he shares, “We were lucky enough to come across Rue as he is the biggest sweetheart you will ever meet!”
Tyson narrates Rue’s beautiful personality, “Rue is very cuddly and affectionate with Amy and me; however, he’s quite shy with new people. Rue loves the warmth. In the colder weather, he will make you lift the blanket so he can go under and snuggle up to your leg while keeping himself warm and cosy. Although he disrupts your sleep, it’s impossible to be annoyed at him as it’s so cute when he finds a spot to settle under the blanket.”
Tyson adds, “Rue is very curious and loves to chase his brother Leo up and down the hallway before taking a well-deserved nap on someone’s leg. He also lets you know when he is ready to eat by sitting by the cat bowl and staring you down.”
Domestic Long Hair Leo got a forever home when Tyson adopted him from Cat Haven. Tyson recalls, “Leo was at our local Pet Barn as they were trying to find him a home. We went in for some pet food, and Amy couldn’t resist looking at the cats. She was immediately set on adopting Leo as we wanted to have another pet as a companion for Rue. We picked up Leo the next day, and he and Rue clicked quickly. Leo and Rue are now inseparable, and it’s cute watching them play together.”
Leo has a lot of personalities. Tyson explains, “Leo has a very different personality to Rue. He is more of an outgoing cat who loves attention but at the same time loves his own time. He’s very playful and gets a bit crazy sometimes, sprinting up and down the house before coming to sit on you, demanding cuddles while drooling all over you. He has the loudest purr that turns on instantly when he gets pats.”
Tyson laughs and continues, “Leo loves to sit on your chest and get pats. Sometimes trying to find a good place to settle, he turns a few times, which results in his butt right in your face. Then he settles, standing on top of you and start drooling; if not wiped off, it falls on your face. This usually happens at least once a day. Otherwise, he’s off staring into the backyard, tackling the birds in the garden.”
Tyson and Amy were moving to Calgary, Canada. He says, “As Amy is Canadian and I am Australian, we have been figuring out where we would want to settle long term. After spending some time in Australia, we have decided Canada is a better fit for us and our future. Leaving Leo and Rue behind was never a thought, as they are a part of the family. Leo and Rue are best friends, and we couldn’t bear the thought of splitting them up. We absolutely adore them!”
Organising pre-travel formalities for two pets can be a daunting process. Therefore, Tyson decided to get help from professional pet transporters and chose Petraveller to manage his pets’ international relocation from Perth to Calgary. Tyson says, “We chose Petraveller because of all the amazing reviews and testimonies. Many reviews state that most other companies are very generic and don’t cater to each pet individually. In contrast, everyone stated that Petraveller goes above and beyond to make it very personal for every client. Also, Petraveller reviews gave us the most confidence.”
Leo and Rue enjoyed their journey and landed safely in Calgary. Thank you, Tyson; we appreciate you choosing Petraveller for Leo and Rue’s international relocation. We wish you lots of love, laughter, drools and cuddles with darling Leo and Rue in Canada!
