“Lily runs around like Speedy Gonzales.”

Adorable twelve-year-old Domestic Shorthair Lily may be a senior cat, but she is young at heart. Get to know Lily and follow her on her adventures as she travels from Sydney to Frankfurt with Petraveller. 

Twelve-year-old Lily found her forever home when Laura adopted her three years ago. She was a senior cat who had been surrendered to the shelter. Laura speaks fondly of her cat, “Lily loves people and needs a lot of attention, head scratches and close body contact. She shows affection by licking or biting and loves head scratches. However, Lily doesn’t like to be touched on her back. She is sensitive to that area of her body. If you try to touch her back, she will most likely try to swipe at you or bite you. You can give her belly rubs if she is in the mood for them, but it’s best to stay near her head.”

Laura adores her cheeky cat. She chuckles and says, “Lily is a sassy cat who likes to be in charge. She’s very playful despite her age and runs around like Speedy Gonzales, especially up and down the stairs when you’re walking. Lily loves to play with her toys and chases anything that moves around the house and the backyard, so I always have to be careful she doesn’t eat bees or wasps. She is a good hunter and catches all the cockroaches and spiders in the house.”

Laura smiles and continues, “Lily is a loving, sweet cat who needs to be close to humans at all times. She sits on my lap or belly a lot, especially during the colder months. Lily doesn’t like other cats and starts hissing if she hears or sees another cat.”

Laura, originally from Germany, decided to move back to her home town in Frankfurt with Lily to be closer to family and friends.
