Moe and Soraya

Soraya was returning home from Melbourne to Christchurch, New Zealand. She reached out to Petraveller to assist her in her pet Moe’s international pet relocation. She speaks about her pet and shares her pet travel experience with Petraveller.

The McGartland family adopted Moe from a local pet rescue when he was a kitten and gave him a forever home. Soraya says, “He has lived in a small townhouse with me, my husband and more recently, our baby whom he’s frightened of.”

Soraya describes Moe as an extremely shy cat who gets frightened easily. He is an indoor, and outdoor cat although he prefers to be inside during the winter. Soraya goes on to share, “Moe is a creature of habit and doesn’t like when we change anything in our home. He is quite sensitive to his environment. When he is settled, he loves back and tummy scratches and being followed around the house.” 

She says fondly, “Moe is extremely gentle and doesn’t scratch or bite. When he is extremely frightened, he might hiss although we’ve only heard this once or twice.”

The McGartland family were moving back home to Christchurch, New Zealand following the birth of their son. Since they were so close to their pet, it was clear that Moe would be joining the family in New Zealand.

Organising an international move is quite a job. Therefore, Soraya decided to hand over the relocation of her pet to an experienced pet transport company.
